Project in brief

I designed and delivered BoshBets end-to-end, owning product strategy, UX/UI, branding, growth assets, and App Store launch.

Most sports tipping platforms lacked transparency and sustainable creator incentives, resulting in poor user trust and retention.

Balancing speed, UX quality, monetisation, and growth as a solo founder while validating a new subscription model in market.

BoshBets grew to 10,000 users in 12 months, validated a creator-led revenue model, and led to a six-figure acquisition offer.

Boshbets Myself as founder

BoshBets was built as a real-world test of whether I could take a product from zero to market without external funding, shortcuts, or concept-only thinking.

The project validated a creator-led subscription model, reached 10,000 users within 12 months, and resulted in a six-figure acquisition offer. More importantly, it reinforced the value of shipping early, listening to users, and designing for commercial reality rather than perfect theory.

My role

I conceived, designed, and delivered BoshBets end-to-end, from initial product strategy and UX/UI design through to App Store submission, launch, and growth. This included defining the business model, designing the full mobile experience, and building the marketing and growth assets needed to acquire users.

Problem

Sports tipping products often rely on opaque tipsters, poor UX, and unsustainable monetisation models. I wanted to test whether a creator-led, transparent subscription model could work, one that rewarded tipsters fairly while giving users a clear, trustworthy product experience.

Challenges

Building a viable product solo meant balancing speed, quality, and commercial reality.

Key challenges included:

  1. Designing a scalable mobile experience that supported multiple tipsters and sports.
  2. Creating a monetisation model that aligned incentives between the platform and creators.
  3. Driving user acquisition without a large marketing budget, relying on product clarity and targeted growth assets.

Outcome

BoshBets launched successfully on the App Store and grew to 10,000 users within 12 months. The creator-led subscription model was validated in market, with tipsters earning revenue through unique handles and shared subscriptions.

The product’s traction and commercial viability ultimately resulted in a six-figure acquisition offer, proving the end-to-end model from idea to exit.
